1 Dead and 3 Injured in Burke VA Wreck | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

One woman died and three people were hurt after a three-car wreck in Burke, Virginia (VA) near Washington, D.C.

The fatal crash happened late Sunday afternoon at Lee Chapel Road and Fairfax County Parkway in Burke. Police stated that one person was driving her 2004 Honda Accord south on Lee Chapel Road. She apparently lost control of her car and crossed over into oncoming traffic.

The Honda slammed into a 2012 Infinity SUV, and then a 2002 Jeep Cherokee. The driver of the Honda died at the scene. Drivers and passengers from the other vehicles had non-life threatening injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.

Police reported that speeding appeared to be a factor in the crash.

The Washington, D.C. metro area is heavily congested, and people often drive recklessly to get where they need to go faster. Unfortunately, speeding can lead to devastating and often fatal crashes that ruin and end lives. As personal injury attorneys representing many car crash victims, we know that these preventable crashes are utter tragedies for the dead, the injured, and their friends and families.

These types of reckless driving crashes should be stark reminders to every one of us that reckless driving and speeding is completely unacceptable. Drivers who fail to follow speed limits put everyone at risk.

When a driver fails to obey the law and hurts someone else, our personal injury legal team is there to ensure that justice is served as much as possible, such as a recent car accident case we settled for $112,000.

We send our deep condolences to the family of the victim in this senseless car accident in Burke.
