$1.8M Awarded in Virginia Medical Malpractice Cancer Case

Being within the "standard of care" when reading a CT scan is not enough, ruled a jury in Arlington County, Virginia when they found in favor of the victim who had cancer, and awarded him $1.8M. They said that the radiologist should have investigated further when he saw an unusual nodule on the patient’s lung CT scan, especially since the patient had a history of melanoma.
