Accident in Dumfries Results in Serious Injuries | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened:

A multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 95 near Dumfries, Virginia (VA) resulted in multiple injuries. The accident occurred when the driver of a Ford F-150 failed to stop and hit a Honda Civic. The Civic then hit a Toyota Sienna causing the Sienna to overturn and hit a Honda Accord. The pickup veered left and hit a Hyundai Accent, according to Fredericksburg.com.

The Stafford man was driving the Civic. He suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and had to be flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital.

The driver of the F-150 has been charged with reckless driving.

The Virginia Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:

The victim from Stafford probably has grounds to pursue a personal injury claim against the at-fault F-150 driver. Just because police have charged the truck driver with a criminal offense does not prevent the victim from seeking restitution through a civil claim. This is also applicable to the other drivers involved in the wreck who suffered injuries.
