Accident in New Hanover County Leads to Loss of Life | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened:

An accident involving a car and a motorcycle occurred at the intersection of Carolina Beach Road and Golden Road in New Hanover County, North Carolina (NC).

The victim, Louis Jaeger of Wilmington, NC was riding the motor bike when he was hit by a vehicle that made an improper left turn, according to wwaytv3.com. The driver has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to yield to the right of way.

The North Carolina Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:

The Jaeger family probably has grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim against the at-fault driver. Just because the driver is facing criminal charges does not preclude the family from seeking restitution through the civil claims process.
