Accident on I-64 in Norfolk Results in Loss of Life | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A terrible accident occurred on Interstate 64 (I-64) in Norfolk, Virginia that resulted in the death of a man named Shelton Copeland (named in WAVY.com article). Mr. Copeland’s 1997 Chevy Tahoe became disabled and he was attempting to put gas in the vehicle when a minivan crashed into the Tahoe.

Mr. Copeland died at the scene of the accident. He was only 39 years old. 

Our deepest condolences go out to the Copeland family. Losing a loved one is always difficult, but the pain is made even worse when the loss is sudden and completely unexpected. Just imagine, in the blink of an eye, Mr. Copeland’s life was taken from him and his loved one’s had their lives turned upside down.

Investigators have determined that Mr. Copeland’s Tahoe was partially in the roadway of I-64, just east of the I-264 interchange when it was hit by the minivan.

The driver of the minivan has been charged with driving on a suspended license,driving without insurance and having an expired registration.
