Amputation Following Misdiagnosis of Kidney Infection Results in $2.3M Verdict for MD Woman

In his latest post to our firm's VA & NC Medical Surgery Malpractice Attorneys Blog, my colleague Jim Lewis applauds a jury verdict in favor of a woman who had part of one leg and most of another foot amputated after her doctors failed to promptly diagnosis a potentially fatal blood infection called sepsis. Jim notes that while no doctor, nurse, pharmacist or other health care professional can be perfect all the time, every caregiver must be held to a high standard for diagnosing patients' problems and providing appropriate care.
