Angier Nursing Home Resident Found Dead After Wandering Off Grounds | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A resident of the Primrose Villa Nursing Facility in Angier, NC, 85-year-old Carrie Christine Evans, was found dead on Monday after hours of searching. She was reported missing on Monday morning and could have been gone most of the previous night.

Evans suffered from increasing instances of dementia and had a history of disappearing from her room in the past. However, there are state regulations preventing locking residents into their rooms due to fire safety concerns.

Two employees at Primrose Villa said that Ms. Evans was “a dear person, one whom they will all miss terribly at the nursing facility.”

It is unclear whether or not Primrose Villa or any of the employees there were negligent in their care of Evans, who was found in a deep ravine less than a quarter-mile from the adult care home.

If you believe that your loved one has been injured due to nursing home neglect, you should contact a lawyer immediately for more information concerning your case.
