Black & Decker Pays Large Fine for Delaying Trimmer Recall | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

In his latest post to our personal injury law firm’s Virginia Beach Injuryboard blog site, my colleague John C. joins with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in taking Black & Decker to task for delaying its recall of defective Grasshog XP trimmer/edgers that had caused more than 150 cut and laceration injuries. The toolmaker has agreed to pay a civil fine of $960,000 to settle allegations that include charges B&D executives intentionally withheld company records from federal investigators.
