BNSF Switchman Receives $5M Verdict in Ankle Injury Case | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

In his latest post to our firm’s Railroad Accident/FELA Lawyers Blog, my colleague Rick Shapiro writes about a BNSF switchman who has received a $4.9 million jury award to cover medical expenses, pain and suffering stemming from a severe ankle injury incurred during a locomotive collision. Rick notes that railroad operators such as Amtrak, BNSF, CSX, Norfolk Southern and Union Pacific have duties to protect their employees under laws such as the Locomotive Safety Inspection Act, or LSIA.
