What Happened:

The driver of a small car lost control of his vehicle at the intersection of Ridge Street and Monticello Avenue in Charlottesville, VA. He slammed into a Charlottesville Area Transit bus at such a high speed that he totaled his car.

The Virginia Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:

We are relieved that there appears to have been no serious injuries in this accident. This crash illustrates the importance for all of us to be aware of our surroundings and our speed as we drive. The driver of the car who reportedly caused the crash has been charged with reckless driving.

The bus driver who suffered minor injuries should speak to a Virginia personal injury lawyer soon to discuss legal options. The carelessness of the car driver caused mental and physical distress to an innocent person, and the bus driver most likely has a well-deserved right to restitution. The car driver still can be sued through a civil claim, even while criminal charges against him are pending.
