Car Wreck Deaths in Gloucester Have Already Doubled in 2010

A car wreck occurred in Gloucester, Virginia (VA) killing one of the drivers involved. It is unclear what caused the Gloucester car wreck. Law enforcement officials said one of the other victims was injured and while her injuries were not life-threatening, she was unable to give many details. Therefore, the investigation continues.

This latest tragedy was the 10th car crash death in Gloucester this year. Only five car accident deaths occurred by this time last year. Is there a reason for this sudden spike in serious car crashes? No one can say for sure. It may just be a statistical anomaly.

Statistics can sometimes seem to dehumanize situations. We forget that behind those numbers were real people, whose families have been left behind to mourn their loss. Our sympathies are with those who were affected by this latest death, as well as those who have lost loved ones in past car wrecks.
