Castle Hayne, NC Man Killed In Car Wreck On North College Road | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

On November 7, 2011, a 21-year-old skateboarder was struck and killed by a car on North College road in Castle Hayne, North Carolina (NC). According to WWAY3, the fatal accident occurred around 7 pm, and the man died at the scene.

The at-fault driver told state troopers he did not see the skateboard rider or have time to stop before the collision.

Te television station noted that people who live in the area were not surprised by the car wreck. One resident said, “This is one of the most dangerous stretches of road in all of New Hanover County.” Bearing this out, several memorial crosses line the roadway.

State troopers say there were no charges against the driver who struck man, but whether troopers press charges against a driver is not conclusive evidence on wrongdoing in a personal injury action.
