Chesapake, VA Personal Injury Lawyer Info: Chinese-Made Frog Masks Recalled Over Suffocation Risk | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

In the latest recall of potentially dangerous toys from China, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, has recalled about 3,400 frog masks sold exclusively by Target during August and September 2011. The masks lack proper ventillation, and the agency is also warning customers that reselling the masks is illegal.

No serious injuries or deaths appear to have been caused by the potentially dangerous product, but this video describes the hazards from the masks:

My colleagues and I have reported on many harmful toys manufactured in China that have caused injuries and deaths to children. In June 2011, we noted that toy helicopters were recalled after causing a number of laceration. In 2010, my colleague Rick Shapiro wrote about a major recall by Newport News, VA, importer Fun Stuff Inc. of thousands of infant and toddler toys because the products could snap and pose a choking hazard. And in 2009 Little Tikes Co. recalled about 1.6 million toy trucks and workshops after an 11-month-old boy got a plastic nail lodged in his throat. Each product was Chinese-made.

Some toys manufactured in China have killed children. Last year Family Dollar Stores, based in Charlotte, North Carolina (NC), voluntarily recalled about 1.8 million toy dart gun sets after two children were killed by these toys.
