As experienced Virginia Beach-based accident injury attorneys our thoughts are with the family of this young man.

We see far too many young motorcyclists who are killed on the roads. In 2009, we reported on how a young sailor with his whole life ahead of him, was killed on his motorcycle in Norfolk, VA.

Although excessive speed can be a factor in the death of motorcyclists, often the fault lies with other drivers who fail to notice them. In 2010 we reported on a case in Hampton, VA in which an elderly driver cut into the path of a motorcyclist, who had the right of way. The motorcyclist was killed in this accident.

Passengers on motorcycles can also be vulnerable. In May, 2011, we reported on how a passenger died when his motorcycle was sideswiped by a truck in Chesapeake, VA.

If you are a motorcyclist who has been hit by a car or a truck you may have a case for a lawsuit. In 2008 our clients – a husband and wife who suffered severe injuries when they were knocked off their motorcycle received just over $1.5 million in a settlement.
