Crosswalk Accident Leads to Injury of Butler High Teenager | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

An intersection at the corners of Swaim Drive and Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Charlotte, North Carolina (NC) has a community worried after a teenager was hit in the crosswalk and suffered injuries.

This was the second pedestrian crosswalk accident to happen in the area in just over a week. A week earlier, a girl was hit by a car in front of the school and lost her life due to the severity of her injuries.
Fox Charlotte reports that drivers at the intersection are breaking the law on a daily basis by making illegal U-Turns.

Community members are calling for stoplights and a crosswalk for students, like the victim in this accident, who walk home from school on the busy parkway.

Our firm appreciates just how serious crosswalk accidents can be. We represented a client who was injured while in a marked crosswalk.
