The Virginia Personal Injury Lawyers’ Perspective

Drinking and driving is a problem that has long plagued this country. According to Mothers Against Drunk Driving in 2011, 9,878 people were killed and approximately 350,000 were injured due to drunk drivers. Contacting a Virginia (VA) personal injury lawyer may allow for a claim against the at-fault driver to recover medical expenses and lost wages.  When a driver flees the scene it shows gross negligence, if you are injured by a drunk driver this fact may allow you to file punitive damages as well.  If you or a loved has been injured or killed by a drunk driver please contact one of our experienced Virginia (VA) personal injury or wrongful death lawyers for a confidential analysis of your legal rights.

Potentially Helpful Info:

In a similar case a client and her husband were on the way to go hunting early in the morning. On their way they were struck by the defendant who was a suspected drunk driver. The defendant fled the scene, and was never found. Our firm launched our own investigation and found the identity of the man. The company that insured the vehicle did not want to pay any damages since there was no proof to place the defendant in the car. However, we were able to convince the insurance company to pay substantial compensation for our client’s injuries given the circumstances.
