Deadly Boat Crash Results in $1.3 Million Settlement | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened:

A serious boat accident involving Pinecraft boat and a poweboat resulted in the death of a 25-year-old man named Luke Pohl. His wife filed a claim against the at-fault boat operator and their employer, Link Tec. Inc., according to Chippewa.com.

A settlement of nearly $1.3 million was reached and a large portion of that settlement will go to structured annuities for Mr. Pohl’s two young children (ages 6 and 1).

The Virginia Wrongful Death Lawyer’s Perspective:

Our firm is glad to see that the victim’s family received some semblance of justice through this settlement. Losing a loved one is a gut-wrenching experience, especially when the loss is sudden and young children are left without a parent.
