My colleague Jim Lewis has written a new post for our firm’s VA/NC Medical Surgery Malpractice blog about how doctors and other heath care professionals in Virginia received $7.8 million from dug companies in 2010. The donations have led consumer groups to question the cozy relationship between doctors and pharmaceutical manufacturers and to ask whether the companies are buying influence for their products that may not be in the best interest of patients.
