Family of nursing home neglect victim wins $42.75 million verdict | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A family that suffered the loss of a loved one due to nursing home neglect has won a $42.75 million dollar verdict, according to WKYT-TV

The victim, who was a Kentucky resident, died in April 2008 due to neglect from the nursing home staff. Malnutrition, infection, bedsores and dehydration were all contributing factors in his death.  The victim, who was a World War II Veteran, died just nine days after being admitted into the nursing home at the age of 88.
