Four Injured in Head-On Collision on Rural Virginia Highway | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Four people were injured on July 31, 2011, when an Isuzu Rodeo collided with a Lincoln Town Car on VA Route 28 near the line between Fauquier and Prince William counties. The SUV crossed a double yellow line and struck the car head on. According to insidenova.com, the at-fault driver was charged with drunk driving and for driving without a license. The driver of the Town Car, Phar Chom Taengsat, suffered serious injuries and was flown to the hospital via helicopter. The three passengers in his car were also taken to the hospital with injuries.

The late hour of the crash, around 10:00 pm, was indicative of driver of the Rodeo’s state. Not surprisingly, late night is the worst time for fatal car crashes. The period between midnight and 3 am has the highest rate of fatal crashes involving drunk drivers.

Our thoughts are with Taengsat, as well as with the other victims and their families. As a personal injury attorney, I’ve seen just how dangerous car accidents can be, particularly those involving drunk drivers. The injured are lucky to have escaped with their lives.

The selfishness of drunk drivers never ceases to amaze me. In this line of work, you see a lot of bad decisions made that affect people’s lives forever. That’s why our firm doesn’t defend drunk drivers. We sue them. Read this article about how to recover damages from drunk drivers and your rights as a victim.
