Due to the ongoing investigation, it is not clear at this time what caused the accident: was the driver of the pick-up truck drinking, or driving recklessly? We don’t know that information for sure right now; however, we do know that the injured drivers may have grounds to file a claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance company, given the injuries they suffered as a result of the accident.

Head-on collisions are incredibly dangerous; two cars colliding with each other while going in opposite directions usually creates a devastating accident. For instance, a few months ago we reported on a terrible head-on accident near Brunswick County, Virginia, in which five people died. The tragedy of many car accidents, of course, head-on or otherwise, is that they often could have been prevented if the at-fault driver had been more cautious, had not been drinking, or had otherwise operated his or her vehicle more safely.
