The Virginia Wrongful Death Attorneys’ Perspective

People walking along or crossing rural highways are almost always exposed to cars and trucks traveling at high rates of speed. Pedestrians in areas like Pittsylvania County north of Danville rarely have even the minimal protections provided by sidewalks and crosswalks. This means that drivers have a high duty to watch for and give space to people on foot.

A driver failed to meet that duty in this case, taking the life of an unprotected pedestrian. Then, as if causing a deadly wreck could get worse, the person drove off. As Virginia personal injury and wrongful death attorneys, we know that no person ever has a valid excuse for driving off after causing an accident. We hope the police quickly track down the at-fault driver so he or she can be held accountable.
