Man Airlifted after Car Wreck in Richlands, North Carolina | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

The Highway Patrol is investigating a one-vehicle wreck that required the driver to be airlifted from Onslow County, North Carolina (N.C.) to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

Trooper J.L. Morton says 27-year-old Ruben Lopez Camacho ran a stop sign at the intersection of Francktown Rd. and Cow Horn Rd. in Richlands, North Carolina (N.C.) around 8:50 p.m. Sunday. Morton says Camacho hit a sign, and his van then drove off into a wooded area off the road. He was pinned in his van until EMS and fire crews were able to get him out of the vehicle. East Care airlifted Camacho to Greenville.

The wreck is under investigation. Trooper Morton says Camacho should have turned on Cow Horn Rd. to go to his home.
