Motor Bike Rider Killed in Augusta County After Driver Failed to Yield Right of Way | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Cecil Eugene Welcher was enjoying a ride on his motorcycle in Augusta County, Virginia (VA) when his life came to a sudden end. The driver of a 2007 Dodge Charger failed to yield the right of way at the intersection of Route 254 and Route 608 and hit Mr. Welcher.

Mr. Welcher was taken to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries, according to newsleader.com.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the Welcher family. Just imagining getting a phone call from the police saying a loved one was killed in an accident makes my heart drop down to the pit of my stomach. Unfortunately, hundreds of people go through this on a daily basis.

Failing to yield the right of way is one of the most common reasons serious motorcycle accidents, car crashes, and truck wrecks occur on our roads. When making turns, be sure to be vigilant and cautious. I know it sounds like common sense, but far too many people rush to make a turn and then getting in a serious accident.
