Motorcycle Accident in Hanover Results in Death of Motor Bike Rider | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

David E. Plemen (CBS 6 News, Aug. 2013) was traveling down Route 601 in Bumpass, Virginia (VA) on his 2005 Harley-Davidson SLS motorcycle when his life came to an abrupt and tragic end. A car reporedtly pulled out in front of Mr. Plemen’s motor bike and a serious collision occurred, according to CBS 6 News. The impact was so severe that Mr. Plemen was thrown from his motorcycle and died. He was only 53 years old.

Police have stated that charges against the driver of the vehicle that pulled out in front of Mr. Plemen are pending since the wreck remains under investigation, as of the date of this posting.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the Plemen family. Losing a loved one is never easy, but the pain is made even worse when the loss is sudden and unexpected. 

Unfortunately, when a motorcycle and car collide, the consequences can be devastating for the operator of the motorcycle. In fact, 78 lives were lost in motorcycle accidents in Virginia in the calendar year of 2012, according to the DMV
