What Happened:

Charges are being filed against a teenage driver who ran a stop sign on Route 151 in Nelson County, Virginia (VA). The 17-year-old teenager slammed into a motorcycle after running the stop sign. The two passengers on the motorcycle both lost their lives as a result of the accident, according to NBC29. Following the accident, the teen is facing two charges: reckless driving and failing to obey a stop sign.

The Virginia Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:

Disregard for highway signs often results in serious accident. In this accident, the 17-year old driver recklessly disregarded a stop sign and caused the death of two people. The families of the victims should consider speaking to a wrongful death attorney in Virginia to discuss their legal options. Just because the driver is facing criminal charges does not preclude the family from seeking restitution through a civil claim.
