Two cars racing down a street in Middlesex, North Carolina (NC) ended in tragedy on Sunday, when one car lost control and plowed into a group of pedestrians on a sidewalk.
That driver killed three and injured four others, and now is facing 2nd degree murder charges. He also is facing two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. The incident occurred at approximately 10:40 PM on July 12.
The wreck happened at Simon Road and Buckhorn Drive in Middlesex. A witness told police that there were two cars racing on Simon Road when one driver lost control. The North Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating if there was a pre-arranged competition that led to the accident.
