One Dead, One Injured in Car Wreck Near River Bend, North Carolina | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened:

A car was driving on US 17 South near River Bend, North Carolina, when the driver lost control. She ran off the road onto the shoulder, slid sideways, flew into the median, and flipped the car several times. The passenger in the car was thrown from the vehicle and died. The car came to a stop on its roof in the southbound lanes of US 17.

The driver of the car, Melissa Dinsmore, also was injured. Police stated that speed was a factor in the crash and charges are pending against the driver.
