The North Carolina (NC) Personal Injury Lawyers’ Perspective

It is very disheartening to hear the driver of the vehicle was so cold blooded and left the victim to die. Our thoughts are with the victim and his family during this time of suffering. Hit and runs leave many questions in their wake, from family members to police investigators. There is no rhyme or reason to a hit and run other than the at-fault driver makes the conscience decision to leave the scene. This is an injustice that should not go unpunished. It is commonly thought that without the apprehension of the at-fault driver there is nothing the victim can do , however this notion is false. A victim should contact a North Carolina (NC) personal injury lawyer as soon as possible to discuss their legal options. A victim of a hit and run can use their uninsured/under insured policy of their auto insurance to pay for their medical expenses. Once the suspect is apprehended, despite the criminal charges against him, the victim will be able to file a civil claim to recoup punitive damages. If you have been involved in a hit and run express your legal rights as a victim and contact an experienced North Carolina (NC) personal injury lawyer.
