The Virginia Personal Injury Lawyers’ Perspective

It is always very unfortunate to hear about the death of a pedestrian, we extend our condolences to the Brown family. Pedestrian safety is always an important issue that has a major affect on entire communities. Many unnecessary injuries and fatalities take place due to inattentiveness or intoxication by both drivers and pedestrians alike. When an accident occurs along the side of a highway it poses for a more difficult claim than an accident that occurs at a crosswalk. This is why it is important to contact a wrongful death lawyer that has an excellent knowledge of pedestrian laws. There will be many factors of the accident that need to be investigated. Was the pedestrian walking on a sidewalk or the shoulder of the road? Was the pedestrian walking on the highway or did the driver veer of the road? Were either the pedestrian or driver under the influence of alcohol? These are just a few of many circumstances that can impact the opportunity for a wrongful death claim. A private consultation will allow for the family of a victim to discuss their legal options and possibility for a wrongful death claim.
