A Chevrolet pickup truck being driven southbound crossed the center line of Patterson Creek Road in Petersburg, West Virginia (WV) and slammed into a Ford Windstar van. The van was occupied by eight people, according to times-news.com.
The victims in the van included six children, ages 2 through 13. Some of the injuries were serious.
The accident remains under investigation.
The West Virginia Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:
The driver and passengers in the Windstar van may have grounds to pursue a personal injury claim against the driver of the pickup truck. The reports do not state what exactly caused the truck driver to suddenly veer into the opposite lane of traffic, but if it was caused by negligent conduct, then the victims would have the ability to seek restitution through a civil action.
