Pickup Driver Charged in Bus Accident in Staunton VA

Comments (0)

A pickup driver in Staunton, Virginia was charged yesterday with misdemeanor failure to control his vehicle after hitting a school bus.

The 19 year-old driver slammed into the school bus head on, which caused damages to both vehicles. Both drivers and a few of the children were transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

The pickup was reported to be towing a Honda car on a car dolly and may have lost control of the vehicle as he took a sharp turn on a wet road. The force of the crash caused the car dolly to jackknife.

Our personal injury firm often works on bus accident cases. In some cases, we have seen bus drivers that have been at fault and held liable for injuries. In the above case, it appears that the car driver may be at fault. Whoever causes the accident, these types of incidents often are caused by driver negligence and poor weather conditions.

The injured and their families would be wise to obtain a personal injury attorney that is well versed in vehicle accident litigation. There is a good chance that some or all of the injured could make a successful personal injury claim against the driver of the car. A good attorney will attempt to obtain the maximum possible settlement from any insurance policies that are in effect.
