Semi-Truck to Blame for Pittsylvania Accident | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened

On February 11, 2013 emergency personnel responded to an accident caused by a semi-truck in Pittsylvania, Virginia (VA).

According to authorities the 18 wheeler tried to make a left turn from Wilkerson Road on to Kentuck Road and struck the woman’s car. Police believe fog and wet road conditions along with speed were the root cause of the accident. The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital for treatment of personal injuries.

The Virginia Personal Injury Lawyers’ Perspective

In inclement weather it’s common to hear about semi-trucks involved in accidents. The sheer size and weight of the trucks plays against the driver even more so when it comes to reaction time or coming to an abrupt stop. Many truck drivers are to blame for countless life altering accidents when they do not take the proper precautions for speed and stopping distance. If you were involved in an accident caused by a tractor trailer careful consideration should go into choosing a Virginia (VA) personal injury lawyer. Not every lawyer will have the tenacity it takes to go after adequate compensation. Tractor trailers cause such severe injuries that a victim may never fully recover to life they lived before the accident. You want to hire a lawyer that is not only familiar with big rig accidents but successful in gaining compensation for their clients.
