Several injured as car slams into light rail train in Charlotte, NC | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Several people were injured following a collision near the intersection of Remount Road and South Boulevard in Charlotte, NC. The wreck began when an SUV clammed into the back of a car that was stopped at a crossing gate.  The impact between the SUV and the car was so strong that the car was forced through the crossing gates and collided with the passing light rail train. Several people were injured, including some from the light rail train.There are currently no charges pending in this case but the investigation is continuing, which includes whether or not alcohol was a factor.
