Six-Vehicle Wreck in Baltimore Results in Loss of Life | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A six-vehicle wreck in Baltimore, Maryland (MD) resulted in the death of Dawn Dempsey and Laureen Dempsey (CBS 6 News, 08-30-13). Both were related to King George County Sheriff Steve Dempsey. A seven-year-old girl also lost her life in this terrible accident.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Dempsey family and the family of the young girl who was killed. Losing a loved one is never easy, but the pain is made even worse when the death is sudden and unexpected. It’s also infuriating to know that the accident may have been preventable. 

News reports stated that the Dempseys were traveling down Route 3 in Baltimore when a flatbed truck rear-ended their vehicle. 

Was the driver of the flat-bed truck distracted? Intoxicated? Was there a mechanical issue? We do not know at this time. More details should arise thorough an investigation of the accident.
