Snow Thrower Recalled for Fire Hazard | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

The US Consumer Product Safety commission estimates that each year there are approximately 5,740 snowblower related injuries in the US which require medical attention. Most of the injuries are finger amputations, but now the manufacturers at All Power America may have to add fire hazards to the list.

Consumer Product Safety Commission has just issued a warning about  a snow thrower brand, whose products could catch on fire.

Consumers should immediately stop using their All Power America single-stage snow throwers and contact All Power to get a free repair.

All Power America Single-Stage Snow Throwers are reported to be a risk because dozens of carburetors have leaked fuel. The product was manufactured in and imported from China. Exposure to Chinese gasoline for extended periods of time while testing the product overseas caused the carburetor needle to become corroded and allowed fuel to leak

The defective product was sold at Menars and other stores from September 2012 until December 2013 for $200, so be sure that your snow thrower is not among those being recalled.

All Power America can be contact toll-free at (888) 896 – 6881 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or online at http://www.allpoweramerica.com/

Fire burns can pose serious threats to your long term health and ability to work. First degree burns can cause the skin to redden and great discomfort. In more severe cases, third degree burns reach beneath the skin and destroy nerves, causing numbness.

Because any burns would be from a defective product, the company is liable to provide lost earnings, medical costs, and emotional distress. A personal injury attorney ensures that victims hold the responsible company accountable to the victim.

No fires involving the snow throwers have been reported. We hope that the possibility does not actualize.
