Three Teenagers Killed in Asheville Accident | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Courtesy of John Coutlakis 1-1-13Three teenagers who attended, or had connections with, T.C. Roberson High School, lost their lives in an accident that occurred on Brevard Road. The images from the accident scene are truly distburing and show the severity of damage that can occur in a high-impact crash. The reports indicate that the teenager’s vehicle collided with tanker truck, according to citizen-times.com

Our deepest condolences go out to the parents and loved ones of the teenagers. Losing someone you love is one of the most difficult experiences anyone has to struggle with in life, but the pain is that much worse when the loss is sudden and the victims are young.

Unfortunately, many young lives are lost every year in car accidents. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reprts that car accidents are the leading cause of death for teenagers in the United States. Approximately seven teenagers, ages 16 to 19, are killed every day due to auto wreck injuries.

Our firm is focused on reducing these startling statistics. For example, we recently spoke to 600 students at Jamestown High School in Williamsburg, Virginia (VA) about the dangers of distracted driving.  Our firm also published an in-depth consumer report about the various types of distracted driving and how avoid them.
