Townville, SC, Car Accident Leaves Driver Dead | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

South Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers reported that a 25-year-old man was killed in a one-vehicle accident just feet from his home in Townville, South Carolina on Monday night. Brandon Rhodes was on his commute from work at around 11 pm heading west on Highway 24 near Smithpoint Road when he left the roadway on the right side and crashed into several trees just short of his house.

The Anderson County Coroner’s Office said that the man was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from his car due to the force of the accident. Police say that the initial investigation of the wreckage hints that speed was a factor in the deadly SC crash.

Car accidents are a leading cause of death for young men – their tendency to speed and to not wear their seat belt are two reasons that fatal accidents among men under 30 are all too common.
