Amtrak Conductor, 4 Passengers Die When Truck Hits Train in Nevada | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

In his latest post to our firm’s Railroad Accident/FELA Lawyers Blog, my colleague Rick Shapiro writes about the ongoing investigation into a grad crossing crash near Reno, Nevada, on June 24, 2011. Federal officials and state police have determined that the driver of the tractor-driver was at fault for the collision that killed him, a conductor and four passengers and also left a total of 20 rail employees and passengers with serious burns and impact injuries. Investigators have not ruled out distracted driving, drunk or drugged driving or a medical emergency as reason for why the big rig driver hit the Amtrak California Zephyr.
