Tragic Accident in Virginia Beach Results in Loss of Life, Multiple Injuries | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A Virginia Beach police officer attempted to pull over a Suzuki XL7 SUV, but the driver of the Suzuki decided to evade police and kept going south on Lynnhaven Parkway. Unfortunately, the Suzuki driver’s reckless decision resulted in his SUV crashing into a Chrysler van at the intersection with Pleasant Valley Road.

The Chrysler van was pushed into the northbound lanes, where it collided with another vehicle. Kelvin Spencer Bracy, the driver of the Chrysler van, died at the scene of the wreck, according to The Virginian Pilot.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Bracy family. Losing a loved one is always heartbreaking, but the pain is made even worse when your loved one is suddenly taken from you in an unexpected manner. It also has to be infuriating to know that Mr. Bracy’s life was taken by the careless and irresponsible actions of a driver fleeing from the police. If only the driver of the Suzuki exercised reasonable care and pulled over, maybe this tragic wreck could have been avoided.

Below is a video news report on this terrible Virginia Beach wrongful death accident:

The driver of the Suzuki was charged with felony eluding, second-degree murder, DUI maiming, first-offense DUI, refusal, driving on a suspended operator’s license.

Two passengers in the Suzuki suffered injuries and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
