Trucks Failing to Meet Safety Standards | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

My colleague Jim Lewis recently wrote about the porous safety measures taken by truck companies with their vehicles in an article entitled “Safety Last: Thousands of Trucks on the Road Fail Basic Safety Standards.”

What’s even more distressing is that trucking companies aren’t taking action. All the while, nearly 5,000 people were killed in 2007 due to trucking accidents. I agree with Jim that action needs to be taken and a thorough investigation of the trucking industry must be conducted immediately.
