Two Camden County, NC High Schoolers Die in Wreck | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened:

While traveling west on Route 158 in Camden County, North Carolina, a Ford Mustang lost control and swerved into the path of a Chevrolet Suburban traveling east. The impact ejected the three teenaged passengers from the Mustang. One of the teens died upon impact and another died at the hospital a few hours later. The third teen was injured. None of the three wore seat belts.

The driver of the Mustang was not seriously injured. The driver of the Suburban also was not seriously hurt. The Mustang driver appeared to be at fault, but no charges have yet been filed, according to WAVY.  Speed and alcohol were not factors in the wreck.

The North Carolina Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of those who perished in this sad accident. While no charges have been filed at this time, it appears that the driver of the Mustang was at fault. Even if no charges are ever filed, a civil lawsuit may be filed on behalf of the deceased victims or by the injured victims to compensate them or their families for lost income, medical and funeral expenses, pain and suffering, and loss of consortium.
