A car accident on Route 250 near Charlottesville, Virginia (VA) sent two drivers to the University of Virginia Medical Center with injuries on the first weekend in October 2011. This accident reminds us that every day, people get injured in a Virginia car accident when other drivers go on the roads with medical issues.

A car wreck can change life forever. The assistance of Virginia personal injury attorneys may be necessary to file a wrongful death case, or personal injury lawsuit to hold a responsible party accountable for an accident.

Our firm helps victims of car wrecks often. In one case, attorneys Jim Lewis and Randy Appleton assisted two motorcycle riders in recovering $1,512,000. A police officer driving a marked cruiser hit the husband and wife head on after drifting over the center line of a two-lane road, and sideswiping a pickup truck.

One client suffered multiple fractures to her arm, wrist, tibia, ankle and several bones in her hand. Another client sustained a severe pelvic fracture. The case settled in mediation shortly before the scheduled trial after our attorneys discovered the police officer suffered from sleep apnea.

Critical to the clients’ recovery was the engagement of VA attorneys quickly after the accident.  Our attorneys promptly obtained medical records to explain why the officer crossed the center line.
