Norfolk, VA Crash Leaves Three Dead, One Seriously Injured | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

Three men died after they lost control of their car on I-64 just before 11 pm on a Saturday in April 2011, according to the Captain’s Log.

The car was heading east on I-64, half a mile west of Chesapeake Boulevard in Norfolk, VA, at a high rate of speed when it lost control and veered off the left side of the road into a ditch. Two of the men, both age 22, died at the scene. Another man, a passenger, suffered serious injuries.

A fourth man, age 21, died at Sentera Norfolk Hopsital. He was a junior and basketball player at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia. His death not only devastated his family and friends, but the CNU community.

The fatal accident was still under investigation. If the Norfolk wreck was the fault of anyone, the family or friends of the men might have to file a wrongful death case with the assistance of Virginia personal injury lawyers against the responsible parties in order to get justice for the pain they suffered.

The death of a loved one is a life-changing event that may never fully be put in the past. It is troubling to think that, in a split moment, one man suffered serious injuries he may never fully recover from, and three other men are gone, with no one ever experiencing their energy, smile, or love again. This Virginia vehicle crash illustrated the damage that can occur in a car wreck, and how someone might need to engage VA personal injury attorneys to help in recovering.
