Woman Killed in Holly Springs Accident on Highway 55 | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A woman named Virginia Hiu Yong was turning left off Old Adams Road in Holly Springs, North Carolina (NC) when her life came to an abrupt and tragic end. A pickup truck reportedly crashed into Mrs. Yong’s vehicle on Highway 55 resulting in her untimely death, according to wncn.com. She was only 44 years old. Our deepest sympathies go out to the Yong family. Losing a loved one is always a gutwrenching experience, but the pain is made that much worse when a loved one is taken from you in a sudden and unexpected manner. We not know what exactly caused the pickup truck to suddenly crash into Mrs. Yong’s vehicle, but we do know that the driver of the pickup truck is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter. Involuntary manslaughter refers to an unintentional killing resulting from recklessness or criminal negligence, or from an unlawful act that is a misdemeanor or low-level felony (such as DUI), according to Findlaw.com. This indicates that the driver of the pickup truck may have been operating their vehicle in a reckless and wanton manner, or was impaired while operating the vehicle.
