Woman Seriously Injured in Maine Logging Crash

Comments (0)

A woman in Standish, Maine (ME) was seriously injured last week when she was broadsided by a logging truck at the intersection of Ossipee Train and Saco Road.

She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she remains in critical condition. Her car was destroyed.

We hope that this woman recovers from this serious truck accident. As personal injury lawyers in Virginia for truck accident victims, we have seen many lives ruined or ended due to truck driver carelessness. Whether it is falling asleep at the wheel or not paying attention to the road, a big heavy tractor trailer or logging truck can cause devastating damage to surrounding vehicles.

In one of our cases in Virginia, we had a client whose car was rear ended by a tractor trailer. The vehicles caught on fire and our client was trapped in the car and died.

During the deposition, the trucker confessed that he did not see the car until a few seconds before he slammed into the car. The defense argued that the car driver caused the wreck because he was driving too slow. We argued that the tractor trailer driver had violated several safety rules and was responsible for the wreck. We were able to win a $3.5 million settlement for the family.
