What Happened
When a vehicle winds up traveling the wrong way on a highway, the consequences can be deadly. Unfortunately, that was the case in a recent accident on Interstate 85 in Brunswick County, Virginia (VA). A vehicle was driving northbound in the southbound lane and slammed head-on with a pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup truck reportedly died on impact and four people in the other car also died at the scene of the wrong-way wreck, according to digtriad.com.

This was an awful accident and our deepest condolences go out to the victims of this wreck. The details about what exactly caused the car to travel the wrong way are unknown, as of the date of this posting. Was the driver intoxicated? Possibly medicated? Or were they simply confused? We will have to wait and see what the accident report reveals.
Based on the facts available, it appears that the wrong-way driver may have been negligent in operating the vehicle and if that’s the case, the family of the pickup truck driver may have grounds for a wrongful death claim.
