What Happened: Our plaintiff was the driver of a minivan taking his wife home for lunch when the defendant driver turned left in front of him, failing to yield the right of way. The resulting collision fractured the plaintiff's left kneecap and caused numerous other abrasions and contusions.

The plaintiff required an extensive surgical repair of his left knee, including the implantation of extensive hardware. This caused significant pain, and several additional surgeries were required to remove the hardware. The plaintiff was an automobile mechanic and lost a large amount of time from work while undergoing medical treatments and recovering from his injuries.

Key Legal Strategy: Because this was a case of clear liability, a lawsuit was filed on behalf of the plaintiff immediately. For this reason, the plaintiff's trial date and release from medical care were very close together, allowing the case to settle quickly.

Outcome: The case was settled for $350,000 without the necessity of a trial.
