What Happened         On September 4, 2004, Car driver client EM was driving his vehicle on 22^nd Street heading to I-264 when his vehicle was struck from the left side by another vehicle attempting to cross 22^nd Street at an intersection in Virginia Beach (Va. Beach), causing his personal injuries.  The Car driver client was transported to a local hospital where he was examined in the emergency room and discharged with a diagnosis of a cervical and lumbar sprain.

                                   The Car driver client initiated chiropractic care approximately two weeks after his hospital discharge which continued for approximately 1 ½ months.  The Car driver client returned to his home in Florida and participated in two more treatment programs with chiropractors near his home.

                                    The Car driver client’s medical expenses presented at trial totaled approximately $4,600.00.  The Car driver client also presented evidence of a permanent impairment through his chiropractors at trial related to his soft tissue injuries and a loss of business expenses related to his inability to complete a business venture he was beginning at the time of the wreck.  Car driver retained our Virginia/North Carolina personal injury law firm to maximize his personal injury recovery/settlement.

Key Legal Strategy   The Car driver client’s injuries were described by his three treating chiropractors at trial – one appeared in person and the other two via deposition.  This presentation allowed the jury to consider the persistence of the Car driver client’s symptoms due to the injuries suffered in the car wreck/accident.

Outcome                     The jury returned a verdict in favor of the Car driver personal injury client in the amount of $21,000.00.
