Virginia Beach Has Averaged 100 Big Rig Crashes Each Year

The numbers of accidents involving 18-wheelers, tractor-trailers and other large commercial trucks in Virginia Beach, Virginia (VA), each year remained remarkably consistent 2006 between 2008. In that year, 101 big rig drivers ran off the road or into other cars, trucks or motorcycles. The numbers dipped slightly in 2007 to 97, only to rebound to 103 in 2008. The most recent data indicate an improvement in trucking safety on I-264, I-64 and major surface roads like Virginia Beach Boulevard, Princess Anne Road and Shore Drive, but ask yourself, "What would it be like to be involved one of the 48 reported commercial truck crashes during the first nine months of 2010?"

Sometimes, all tragedy needs is a chance. Certainly, the victim of the fatal accident in which a Fed Ex delivery truck ran a red light on Northampton Boulevard/Route 13 in the predawn hours of August 13, 2010, didn't expect that drive to cost him his life. Nor did the driver of a car partially crushed by a flying dump truck tire on I-264 between Witchduck Road and Independence Boulevard see THAT coming.

Severe injuries and deaths often result when big rigs wreck. Adding insult to that harsh reality, companies that operate and insure commercial trucks rarely welcome or quickly process claims to pay for victims' vehicle repairs or compensate victims for medical bills, lost wages or suffering.

If you or a family member does end up in a collision or other accident with a semi, panel van or construction vehicle, you can count on our team of lawyers to help you understand whether you have a valid claim, If you do, you can then rely on us to deal with the insurance companies. We have more than 100 years of combined experience securing settlements and verdicts for people harmed in accidents involving trucks.

Call our Virginia Beach offices at (757) 460-7776 to discuss your case. The initial consultation is always free, and we only collect legal fees if we succeed in winning your case.
